Fleurs!

Jack was mowing today, and he spotted the fact that two different flowers in our yard are finally producing blooms!

This is one of our ground cover daylilies, which we hope will soon engulf the little area under our live oak. The daylily patch is surrounded by creeping myrtle, which hasn't done much yet, but after a few years, it should fill in nicely.

Here's one of our Dutch irises that we planted in a small clump next to our fence. We got a variety of purples, whites, and yellows, but the purple came up first. The irises are interspersed with a few mounds of dark green grass, which you can sort of see in the picture, and they're right next to some blue delphinium bushes that haven't had much activity yet.

Hurray for successful gardening ventures!
